Isabella Iorio is a New York City based actor, writer, director, stage manager, and movement artist.

A graduate of the Drama program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, she also studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. With more than twenty years of dance training, Isabella brings a strong physicality, versatility, and movement-based approach to her work as a performer and theatre artist.

Her theatre credits include The Tempest, Cymbeline, Peter Pan, Richard III, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, A Christmas Carol, Under the Ice, As You Like It, Alice in Wonderland, Hamlet, Again, and Antigone. She has performed extensively with Stag & Lion Theatre Company, as well as with Theatre for the New City and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. To view her resume, click here.

Beyond performing, Isabella has worked extensively behind the scenes and across multiple areas of theatrical production. She has choreographed, served as a dance captain and movement director, and worked in fight choreography and stage management. She has stage managed more than 15 theatrical productions throughout New York City and has directed two productions, Present Laughter and Tartuffe.

Isabella is particularly interested in the intersection of physicality, storytelling, and character, and in creating theatre where movement is an essential part of the storytelling. Her work as a multi-hyphenate artist allows her to approach a production from both sides of the curtain, with a deep understanding of the collaborative process that brings a story to life.

As a writer and performer, Isabella's original full-length play, Hula Hoop, will premiere at the New York Theatre Festival in November 2026, with Isabella starring in the production. Through her work on Hula Hoop and beyond, she is passionate about creating bold, physical, emotionally honest theatre and collaborating with artists who are curious, fearless, and committed to telling stories that leave an audience feeling something.
